By winning the sprint double in Paris, the American wonder hopes to move past the letdown of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and establish beyond doubt that he is Usain Bolt’s heir.

With four record golds in the 100-, 200-, 4×100-, and 4×400-meter relays, the 26-year-old hopes to overtake Bolt, who he could only manage a bronze in the 200-meter event in Tokyo three years ago.

As the star of the previous year’s world championships, Lyles demonstrated his ability to capture three titles by winning the sprint double and the 4x100m relay.
